I am a creative and conservation artist, who absolutely enjoys producing colourful and pleasing artworks. My aim is to brighten up and help improve the well-being of people, and inspire them to incorporate art into their lives. Creativity is part of me, which goes hand in hand with a deep respect of and interest in, our natural environment. Every painting is original, different from each other, and designed to suit homes and workplaces.
We are gifted by imagination, and I make great use of this before starting on new projects. I often experiment with shapes and their locations to show imagined motions. And use different tools and materials to create textures, thus giving a tactile touch to the painting surface. Encaustic wax is often added to enhance the theme and define my art. Some of the ideas about shape, motion and flow, in my abstract paintings, have come from my previous experience in production engineering, business administration and information technology.
I currently attend yearly sculpture workshops, in which new pieces of stone are selected. On these occasions, a unique design in the stone is developed.
On the conservation side, my ongoing Nature's series of paintings, asks the viewer to be aware, think, and consider the impact of our actions on this world's environment.

In my later years of school, I studied art and history as well as core subjects, and produced some work in ink and water colours.
After I left school, I was accepted into an E.I.T.B. engineering apprenticeship, which included City & Guilds college studies, to train as a tool and machine engineer. During this time, I built my own toolbox and a range of tools which could be used both in the domestic and commercial workplaces. When I graduated from my apprenticeship with two specialist machining skills, I was assigned to work on a production line, producing components for aircraft and vehicles.
Due to major industrial changes at the time, I transferred in to business administration for a while, until I was able to start my second career in computing. Whilst I studied and used many types of software in my long information technology career, I really missed being a creative person. So, on a part time basis, my main interest was focused on studying and creating digital art. Some of my digital artworks were entered into local and county exhibitions, including a company charity auction.
In 2004 I decided to return to physical painting and produce a body of work for exhibition and sale, advertising them online. This was followed later by the creation of the first two of my sculptures in Serpentine stone, embedded with semi-precious gemstones. Some of these works also have appeared in local and county exhibitions.
In the autumn of 2016, after retiring from the I.T. industry, I took the opportunity to work creatively full time in the arts.
