I paint in oils; subjects include chairs, man-made objects, landscapes, cityscapes and the natural world, especially trees and their strong forms.
Based in Chorleywood, I work from my garden studio where I produce figurative and semi-abstract oil paintings based on the transient, visual appearance of objects and places, playing on the effects of time and the elements. Subjects include landscapes, cityscapes and objects, both man-made and from the natural world. During lockdown the natural world has featured strongly in my work, with a focus on trees and their strong shapes and forms. Each painting is a new journey, dictated by my response to the subject. The experimental and accidental are important factors in my work. Qualifications: BA (Hons) in Fine Art
