Over the last twenty years I have had solo exhibitions and also taken part in combined exhibitions with other artists.
I have exhibited in Norway, France and Canada as well as different locations in the UK.
I taught art for almost 23 years and decided that I needed a new direction in life. I retired from teaching and moved into my own more creative area of Art & Design.
I first trained at Harrow School of Art and as well as teaching part time at Rickmansworth worked as a Graphic Designer with my husband in our own graphics company. Since computers took over I found that Graphics had changed and starting experimenting with more 'hands on' Art. Having always sewn some of my own clothes and for a short time also worked (in school holidays) for a local theatrical costumier, my interest in textiles and textures grew.
My work is based on natural forms and landscapes. I have travelled with my husband in both England and abroad and always take photographs and do sketches as a basis for my work. I find the textures and colours created by nature very inspiring and exciting and try to interpret them in my own way using threads, beads, fabrics and ribbons.
