I am exhibiting with St. Albans Art Society 24-27 July.
From a young age I was introduced to Fine Arts by my parents. Paintings were my favorite subject. I was 7 years old when I 1st visit Vatican City in Rome. I was overwhelmed with the beauty and the sublime collection of Art in the Vatican Museums. At the end of the tour I told my parents that I would like to be a Pope. When asked: “Why?” I reply: “Because every morning I will get up surrounded by such beauty, I will be very happy.” I didn’t become a Pope, but a painter instead. I studied painting in La Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, Italy. I specialise in figurative oil paintings as well as landscapes and Still Life. My thoughts and my art are influenced by the Italian Renaissance, Giotto’s frescoes, Antonello da Messina sublime portraits, Caravaggio and his chiaroscuro technique also know as tenebrism. I am very much inspired by painters like Serov, Sargent, Sorolla and Felice Casorati.
