I am pleased to announce that I have just set up my new studio in Harpenden. I am so excited to be back working on my own projects, though I continue to combine this with regular teaching. I hope to run some workshops in the summer. I will let you all know when these will start so you can book your place - e.g. abstract textured acrylics, 2d mixed media canvases, silk painting or basket weaving. I also run evening creative parties if you fancy getting together with some friends to make art together over a glass of wine or two!

I am primarily an artist in education, promoting creativity, inclusion and wellbeing in the classroom and beyond. I work with diverse groups of all ages and abilities and delivery workshops in a range of media including ceramics. My own work is inspired by journeys, experiences and moments in time. I work in a range of media and enjoy mixing these, exploring the potential of materials and experiment with various processes and techniques. I use photography not only as a means to record 'beautiful' moments but also as stimulus for work. This at times suggests aspects of sensory experience, embodying the recall of a sensation. I am drawn to the act of making as a process which is never complete - whatever emerges from this process is but one moment in a creative journey. Much of my work is experimental, often reflecting aspects of the memories created as I physically move through both manmade and natural spaces, handle objects or witness events and scenes which capture my imagination in one way or another.
