Inspired by the natural world, I make art of animals and other natural elements in a whimsical way, while remaining true to their spirit and beauty.
I have loved drawing since I could hold a pencil. I now paint in acrylic on canvas along with illustrating using pen and ink. I also create needle felted animal sculptures.
My inspiration is drawn from the natural world around me both at home in the U.K. countryside or globally from wildlife further afield. Animals (wild or domesticated) have always been my passion and I aim to capture their beauty, fun and movement in a way that is humorous and a touch whimsical, enough to bring a smile to the viewer, yet still remain true to the animals natural sprit and beauty.
Each piece develops its own character during its evolution from sketches to finished piece.
I draw inspiration from the shapes of plants and the colours of the seasons, the weather and the light. I try to absorb every moment when I am walking in the countryside or by the sea. The light falling across fields, the big Norfolk sky or tiny details like pebbles or leaves.
All commission enquiries welcome, I do many pen and ink and acrylic pet portraits.
Check out my gallery video for more examples of my work and commissioned work.
My main wish is you enjoy having a piece of my work in your home and it makes you smile when you see it.
