Sustainable St Albans at Nude Tin Can Gallery, St Albans May 2019
Pop-up exhibition in support of Youth Talk St Albans Nov 2018 - curator & contributor.
A colour enthusiast. I paint the landscape, St Albans scenes, people in their daily lives & abstract pieces either in acrylics, ink, oil or digitally.
I have been a student at Insight School of Art for several years taking classes in oils, acrylics and Life Drawing. Colour is important to me and I like to exaggerate this im my work and often use non-realistic tones. I am the publisher of The St Albans Artists’ Calendar which features my work among that of 12 local artists.
Born in Bury and raised in Rochdale I moved to St Albans in 1993. Having been put off a creative career by my school, I joined a FTSE 100 company after graduating from Birmingham University in Economic & Social History. I later retrained as an Interior Designer, City & Guilds, began art classes to improve my work and became hooked once again. All aspects of art and design interest me and I am a keen gardener (art in 4D). I have been volunteering at Raindrops on Roses, the charity gift shop by St Albans Clock Tower, since it opened in 2012 and serving and getting to know the customers both locals and visitors.
Digital art is my latest creative adventure. I intend to teach painting, drawing and life drawing classes for adults locally once conditions allow.
