When normality returns, I can be found at the Hemel Hempstead Old Town Market. All my products and information regarding purchases or commission requests are available on my website. I'll be starting online macrame workshops very soon, so please contact me if you're interested in taking part - https://mailchi.mp/d964d7f6e007/learn-macrame
I hope to be able to offer one to one, or small group workshops in future, so if you'd like to learn macrame with some friends, give me a shout. You can express interest in my workshops etc by filling in this form https://mailchi.mp/d964d7f6e007/learn-macrame When I start my online or in person lessons (hopefully in the not too distant future) I'll let you know.
Also keep an eye out for a new range of my patterns for sale - crochet, macrame and knitting projects for beginners. My first crochet pattern for a small phone bag is now available on my website. https://www.colourmydreams.co.uk/shop/Crochet-Kit-Joy-p258769078 It's a lovely little pattern for a beginner and there's enough yarn to make two bags. They make a great Christmas present.
Colourful, quirky, fun, eco-friendly products and kits. Homewares, fashion and accessories.
All one-offs you'll love to own from Colour My Dreams.
For the past 13 years I've been working as a freelance graphic designer, but recently I've decided to start creating more tangible products for sale rather than working on client based projects.
A throwback to my youth has given me a new love in my life - Macrame, Crochet and Knitting. I gave the macrame a try one day in September 2017 to see if I could still remember how to do it (it'd been over 30 yrs since the last time!) and I could. Since then I've been a little bit obsessed - if it can be knotted, knitted or crocheted, I'll give it a try, quite often making things up at random. My range so far included, wall-hangings, hanging pot plant holders, jewellery, handbags, coasters, Christmas decorations, scarves, beanies, bags, fashion items and various other bits and pieces. I'd really like to pursue this further with commissions for larger wall hangings or fashion items custom made in your choice of colours. All my work is available to view and buy on my website - Colour My Dreams - https://www.colourmydreams.co.uk.
You can also learn these wonderful crafts using my kits and tutorials. I have a YouTube channel that has short, simple to follow lessons. I'm creating new tutorials every week, so keep an eye out for new videos on a regular basis. Some of these will reflect the processes and techniques you'll find in my patterns, so if you get stuck, you can always check out the corresponding video for that part of the pattern and head back there whenever you need a refresher.
Originally from Australia, Britain has been my home for the past 29 years, Berkhamsted for 25. I have two children, both in the creative industries - my son has just completed a Media Studies Degree and my daughter is currently studying a Contemporary Dance Degree. I love coffee, wine, theatre and things that make me laugh. I'm happy when I'm creating something, I never get bored and always try to look at a glass as half full.
I hope you like my work - feel free to ask any questions, enquire about a commission or pick my brains about how to do what I do. Always happy to share ideas and add what I can to someone else's creative journey.
Commissions always welcome. Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries about my product or private commissions firstname.lastname@example.org.
