Abstract painter. Mainly self-taught, and later in life she gained a Diploma in Drawing and Painting and Illustrating Children’s Book at London Art College.
Beatrice works with acrylic paint and acrylic ink. She is inspired by nature: landscapes, skies, flowers, sea, animals and humans too. Her work is colourful, vibrant and it’s her emotional response to the beauty of the natural world. She aims to create a feeling of wonder, curiosity and magic through texture, mark making, colour and shape contrast and she allows her work to shape a life of its own. She approaches her painting in an intuitive and mindfulness way where she becomes totally absorbed in my her unique creative practice. She applies thin, thick and loosely layers of paint and she uses several mark making tools such as credit card, kitchen spatula, different sizes of brushes and tissue paper to add and subtract paint. Beatrice loves the contrast between light and dark and to reveal what is below each layer.
