Anne is a contemporary, semi-abstract landscape painter.
Her work is an intuitive, loosely based response to the landscape around her. Subjects vary, but often it's a colour, a strong contrast or a linear quality that captures her interest. Observational sketches and photographs act as a reminder and prompt, but are left behind as the painting develops and pursues its own determination.
Anne's recent work has been based on a small, local river and has explored the ideas of surfaces, depths, reflections, movement and stillness. These paintings show the warmth and gentle flow through summer and early autumn months and search for a sense of mood, atmosphere, shapes and colours, the apparent and the hidden.
Anne has exhibited locally and in London and is a member of the Wynd Gallery in Letchworth.
