Ghazal is an Iranian artist whose passion for painting as a child developed into a career as a graphic designer and illustrator. Her work is principally delivered in acrylics, but she is equally comfortable working in oil, water colour and pencil. Her early work on arrival in the United Kingdom explored the emotions and challenges involved in her journey from Iran, and the suffering and compassion that she encountered on it. Since then she has developed her portfolio, painting across all mediums, exhibiting in the Wellcome Collection (part of the Wellcome Trust) and at the University of Westminster in London, and working as a gallery assistant in the Lister Hospital in Hertfordshire.

Ghazal has a BA in graphic design from Rasam University in Karaj, Iran (2007-2011), and 10 years working variously as a graphic designer, advertising and artistic director, illustrator and artistic ‘think tanker’ in a range of companies. Throughout this period she exhibited her art work in galleries across Tehran.
