ENTRIES INVITED FOR FIRST ANNUAL CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR AT RUDOLF STEINER SCHOOL IN KINGS LANGLEY IN OCTOBER 2011
Herts Visual Arts members have been invited to participate in the first annual Art Fair to be held at the well known Rudolf Steiner School in Kings Langley.
The school which has a strong arts and crafts curriculum and is famous for its regular events throughout the year is a beautiful venue to hold a fair of this kind.
The incentive for organising this event is to offer contemporary artists an opportunity to display and sell their artwork in an environment that is unique and attracts a good number of visitors.
Their Advent Fair attracts over 3000 visitors and other fairs during the year attract on average 2000 visitors. Set in 10 acres of lush green fields and trees the buildings in the school lend themselves perfectly as a venue for this event.
The Art Fair will be open for preview on Friday evening (with complimentary wine and canapés) from 7pm to 10pm, and two days of the weekend: Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday from 11am to 4pm. Food and drinks will be available all throughout the weekend of the fair.
The artworks will be shown in several of the large rooms within the main buildings ensuring that every artist has an adequately large exhibition space. The organisers plan to advertise extensively in the Watford Hemel and Berkhamstead area.
30% contribution of all sales made will be used for the benefit of the school. The RSSKL school is a registered charity and it is a strong part of the ethos of the school to accept as many as possible non paying or low paying students.

A NEW PLACE FOR ART LOVERS IN BERKHAMSTED
On 9 September 2011 a new Gallery will open above the Post Office in Berkhamsted High Street.
The Upstairs Gallery, a venture by The Way Inn Trust, will provide space for local artists and crafters to exhibit and sell their work. All profits raised at the gallery will be donated to local charities.
The Way Inn is developing this as a community resource for the benefit of everyone involved in and interested in art and crafts. The work shown in the gallery will be selected to fit into the style and ethos of the gallery which will be contemporary, original work from the area in and around Berkhamsted.
The Upstairs Gallery will be run by a small group of volunteer artists and crafters and will feature a regularly changing display of work, exhibitions and information about the local arts scene. There will also be occasional workshops and lectures to enhance our community's interest in art and crafts.
We are looking for artists and crafters who might like to display their work, and also for volunteers to help man and run the gallery.
For more information please contact by email and keep an eye on our website and blog.
