IT'S been a busy month for HVAF artists and volunteers, making last minute preparations for the launch of Open Studios, but finally we have lift off!

A big THANKYOU goes out to Open Studios Coordinator Linda Warminger and her support team for making the event happen. It's a mammoth task organising an event on this scale, and Linda's success in the first year of the job means she's banned from ever leaving HVAF!

On a sadder note, we bring news of the death of HVAF artist Alan Norris, who will be remembered for his vibrant paintings of St Albans. Steve Rogers outlines the career and working practices of Alan Norris, and his intention now to create a catalogue of Alan's work.

It was disappointing to hear that HVAF failed to secure funding from the Arts Council. It's vital that we attract more funding to the forum, so anyone with any bright ideas, let's have them.....

Otherwise, this issue of the HVAF e-Newsletter covers the latest opportunities, events and workshops, and launches Artist on File, profiling HVAF member Linda Gifford.

Lastly, don't forget to add the AGM date to your! It's Tuesday 17 November and all I'm saying is 3D specs will be provided.

Wishing you all the best for a successful Open Studio.
