Herts Open Studios 2009

HERTS Open Studios 2009 has arrived, and with it the opportunity for the public to see the sheer volume, quality and range of visual art across the county.

Until 4 October, artists and craftspeople in Hertfordshire extend an open invite to the public to visit them in their studios, for the chance to see them at work, or to buy or commission art directly from them.

The Herts Open Studio 2009 brochure has been designed for users to create a 'trail' of studios, by geographic area or by style and media. You can download your copy of the brochure from the HVAF website, or pick up a free copy from libraries, Tourist Information Offices, and a wide variety of galleries and other commercial outlets across the county. Check Open Studios 2009 on the website for a list of outlets.

Here's just a few of the events taking place during Herts Open Studios... 30 artists in St Albans have set up a Google Maps page to make finding their 17 venues easier during Open Studios, visitors to Artscape in Harpenden will be able to see a broad range of work, including painting, mixed media, glass, photography and illustration; and live demonstrations at Artshed will include painting, lampworking, ceramic smoke firing and textiles.
