The Palace Green Gallery re-opens and read Connie's latest Postcard from Shetland.

Palace Green Gallery is located in the Stable Yard retail area of historic Hatfield House. It reopened in March 2013 under new management and with a mission to exhibit a broad selection of original art at fair and affordable prices.

The Gallery was completely refurbished and boasts a custom designed display system in the bright and spacious new interior.

‘We wanted to take the gallery in a new direction', says Patricia Lewis, the Gallery’s new owner, 'away from selling manufactured giftware to all original art, although we do have a small number of high quality, carefully chosen limited edition items. We source our art carefully and whilst we try to exhibit as much local art as possible, we prefer to base our choice on quality and originality.

The paintings at Palace Green range from the traditional still life oils of Peter Kotka through landscapes and inks to contemporary modern canvasses. Similarly, our ceramics include the delicate, ethereal fragility of Joy Trpkovic’s porcelain vessels, Marshall Colman’s robust Mediterranean tableware and a vast range in between.

Most of the art galleries in the county now seem to have gone the way of incorporating high quality manufactured stock into their collections.  We are committed to selling original works of art.  We believe this is what makes us almost unique amongst Galleries in Hertfordshire.'
