Herts Visual Arts AGM - Thursday 21st July 2011

Herts Visual Arts Members will receive a separate email this month containing the Agenda, draft 2010 Accounts and Committee Nomination Forms.  We have arranged a presentation by Sarah Manning, Director of Visual Merchandising Courses, who will be giving an interesting and insightful lecture after the formal AGM proceedings.

Sarah holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning & Teaching (Distinction), and lectures for The University of the Arts London and The London College of Fashion.

VMC design and train bespoke Visual Merchandising courses and have worked with luxury brands and retailers including the East London Design Show, Harvey Nichols, Triumph, Asics, Suzuki, Charlton House Corporate Catering, Portmeirion Ceramics, Hallmark, Staples, Marc b Accessories, BBR Opticians, Lichfield St Opticians and many independent retailers over the UK.

Her presentation will include the basic principles of Visual Merchandising  and Display to increase the buying public's interest in your work, effective ticketing and signage, creating an effective shopping experience for your customer and practical examples of how Visual Merchandising techniques have assisted other Herts Visual Arts members with displaying their work.

Sarah has been retained by the East London Design Show for the last three years and HVA Member Linda Gifford has benefitted from her experience - "Sarah helped me improve my display for the East London Design Show, not only giving me sound principles to work to but also in working, with me, to display my products to their best advantage".

We look forward to hearing her presentation and taking away some key inspiration for presenting our exhibition and craft market displays and of course our artwork at Open Studios.
