'OPEN BOOK' SCULPTURE BY HVA MEMBER DIANE MACLEAN, UNVEILED BY HM THE QUEEN IN PARIS ON 7 JUNE 2014
The sculpture is brushed and mirror-polished stainless steel and red coloured stainless steel.
Words accompanying the sculpture are engraved on a plaque:
'Un livre que nous ecrivons ensemble
An open book we are writing together'
The sculpture was chosen as a gift to the City of Paris, representing
the continuing friendship between our countries. It was the concluding event of the Queen's visit to France to commemorate the D-Day landings of WW2.
It was unveiled by the Queen on the Ile de la Cite and will be permanently located in a site near the Champs Elysees later in the year.
You can see more work by Diane Maclean this year as she is participating in Herts Open Studios (No. 75 in the brochure).
