Palace Green Gallery

NEW contemporary art space Palace Green Gallery has opened in Hatfield to offer exhibition space for Hertfordshire artists, and the chance for buyers to purchase artworks from quality makers nationwide.

Launched in the palatial grounds of Hatfield House, Palace Green Gallery features works in ceramics and glass, as well as original prints, etchings, screen prints and works on canvas in a brightly lit, open space with vaulted ceilings.

Behind the new art gallery is Jacqueline Grattan and Lynn Andrews, owner of Artshed Art Centre and the force behind the programme of creative art workshops at the Ware venue.

But Lynn is by no means a stranger to the role of the curator, having staged large art fairs and countless exhibitions at Artshed. Now Lynn and Jacqueline are expanding to create a space dedicated to contemporary art, showcasing work from a wide stable of artists with a diverse range of styles. The gallery is able to offer something for the occasional buyer to the collector, with an emphasis on ceramics. “It’s one of my first loves,” says Lynn. “There is such a wealth of activity of art in clay.”

Artists wishing to enquire about exhibiting at Palace Green Gallery should contact the gallery and make an appointment to visit. Lynn and Jacqueline are very interested in showing work by local artists. 01707 272551

Accessed via George’s Gate, Palace Green Gallery is situated a short walk along the front of the old palace into the Stable Yard. There’s a cafe next door and free car parking is available to visitors. Free entrance into Stable Yard.
Palace Green Gallery is open 6 days a week, Tuesday to Sunday from 11.00am to 5.30pm.
