Following a cancelled booking, 14 members took up the last minute challenge of submitting work to the theme of 'Journeys' to be exhibited in the Cafe Gallery at Harefield Hospital. The exhibition is being set up this week, and will run 7 Feb - 13 May. Here is a flavour of the art that will be on show.
Versatile artist June Faulkner is a “What happens if..?” kind of person.
With a body of work stretching from painting and photography to dyeing and screen-printing on fabric, she is always ready to experiment with colour, light, texture and medium to see what happens. Artists who feel their work is stuck in a rut should find her get-up-and-go approach inspiring. Fiona Gaskell finds out how she does it.
Clare Kendal Bate recently interviewed artist Jo Howe at the Trestle Art Base in St Albans. She was busy hanging work for her current exhibition, called ‘Echoes of Fragrant Voices’, which runs until the 7th February 2014.
Later this month, we’re hosting a workshop entitled ‘Getting the Most Out of Social Media’. Adam Blackie will be presenting a simple strategy that works with any type of social media and can take very little time to implement effectively. Ahead of this event, we feel it would be useful to provide an overview of some of our favourite social media channels available to promoting your art.

New volunteers to join the team are always welcome this month we are appealing for newsletter contributors and also someone who would be happy to take on support role to assist members experiencing difficulty with using our website.
