January Members Meeting

What a buzz! We had almost 40 members join in with our 10am-2pm workshop-style meeting at Rothamsted Conference Centre on January 9th, with almost as many letting us know they couldn’t make it.

Scripted to informally engage using metaphors, stories for change, opportunities for networking and more, there was drawing, chatting, planning and decision-making in abundance. Activities to support team building, idea generation and contribute to HA/OS futures were enthusiastically carried out and it was busy from beginning to end, including over lunch. The great mix of participants meant we benefitted from both historic experience and unfettered ideas – amazing contributions to HVA and Open Studios planning and design for the future. Thank-you to everyone who took part.

There were several requests for ‘the next one’ so we plan to run workshop-style meetings around Hertfordshire in 2017 for membership, Open Studios and Social Media. Plus, we’ve already pencilled in another Membership Conference for January 2018.

A good many of those taking part in January also offered to be part of our volunteer network – those members who help organise and deliver all our events and background planning/admin. Offers ranged from micro-tasks to Area Coordinator. Could you help with anything along the same lines? It’s a great opportunity to keep in touch with other artists and help HVA deliver great things to members.

A huge thank-you to everyone who came along to make the day so exciting and thank-you for all the positive messages that have come in since. “the structure & agenda were so well received, stimulating very real support” said one participant .

Remember to keep an eye out for new opportunities and initiatives from our January meet-up.

We are delighted to tell you that Sharon Korek Blossom Glassworks, has kindly offered to take the role of Membership Secretary for us. Our volunteers really do make Herts Visual Arts possible!
