Dec 2016/Jan 2017

Welcome to the Christmas/New Year edition of the Herts Visual Arts Newsletter.  The last for 2016 and my final newletter, as I stand down, and handover to Creative Genie Kelly Pedlar, who will resume a first of the month publication date from February 2017.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my eight years with HVA (seven of which organising Herts Open Studios) and have been delighted to see the improvements every year including email alerts to members with opportunties and events, and culminating this year in the delivery of our new website and the capability of enhanced gallery space (now 15 images free of charge) for members. Impressive achievements, when you consider that the committee is predominantly comprised of volunteers.  So if your New Year resolution is to volunteer...

Herts Open Studios

Thank you to everyone who completed one or more of the surveys I sent out recently. Your feedback, alongside the 2015 strategic review, is invaluable in how we (Organising Group and members together) shape HVA and Open Studios into the future. For example, we are currently working on ways of improving Open Studios for 2017 and beyond, including moving towards an on-line brochure. Please see the Members Only Facebook page for more information - and feel free to comment!

Creative Genie

Our last Newsletter of 2016! It's been a year with some change for Herts Visual Arts, new website, myself and Lucinda joining the team, and of course another Open Studios event for Hertfordshire to enjoy. We're also saying a warm farewell to Linda, and as you know I'll be putting the newsletter together moving forward into 2017. I'm busy already with giving the Newsletter a new look, and making it more Social Media and link friendly for you.

Dear members, after 7 years as chair of HVA I have decided that it is time for me to step down in favour of someone with a new approach, perhaps a practising artist, a collector or just someone with a different experience and contacts.
