Every course has a silver lining

HVAF member and Director of the Hertfordshire School of Jewellery, Joanna Mason provided a team building day for the North Herts Minority Ethnic Forum, teaching a group of 15 to 19 year olds the art of jewellery making.

The Hertfordshire School of Jewellery runs a comprehensive selection of jewellery making workshops for the beginner and more experienced artist alike. The workshop supported the forum's aims by providing an educational day that helped encourage and develop those who attended.

Jewellery artist Joanna Mason was thrilled to be given the opportunity to get the next generation interested in craft. Joanna said: “Programmes such as this have emphasised Britain's need to get crafting and have got more young people interested in craft. It was a pleasure to teach the girls from the forum. I think we might have the next generation of budding jewellery designers on our hands!”

The NHMEF completed an 'Introduction to Silver Clay workshop' at the Hertfordshire School of Jewellery. Silver Clay is a revolutionary new material that can be worked in the same way as clay and when fired leaves your design with all its detail in pure silver.
