Judith MacKay Wildlife Artist
Painting has been Judith’s lifelong passion and growing up in the West Country brought her into close proximity with every form of wildlife. Judith is a Fine Artist specialising in painting realistic wildlife in pastel using her sketches and photographs taken on safari in Africa and here in the UK as her reference material. Judith’s paintings are of many endangered species including the African Elephant, White Rhino, Mountain Gorillas, Cheetah and Lemurs. She also enjoys painting British Wildlife and Birds of Prey and is happy to take commissions of both wild and domestic animals and recently launched Judith's Pet Portraits.
As a member of The Association of Animal Artists, The Wildlife Art Society International and Marwell International Wildlife Art Society Judith exhibits her paintings at their annual exhibitions as well as both private and Charity Exhibitions. She is a member of Hertfordshire Visual Arts and the SAA. A selection of Judith's paintings are currently being exhibited at PS Arts Mardleybury Gallery in Datchworth and in the virtual galleries of Artist Info, The Global Art Company and Redcliffe Imaging.
Judith was invited to do the illustrations for Rose Todd’s book entitled “A Tea And Biscuit Philosophy” published in 2012.
She is passionate about conservation of endangered species and donates a % of her sales to a number of charities including The Scottish Wildcat Association and the Snow Leopard Project at the Cat Survival Trust. Judith also supports The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation and The Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust.
