I am an architect graduated from ITESM campus Monterrey with a master of arts in architecture from Greenwich University. After 12 years of working as an architect in countries such as UK, Switzerland and Bolivia, my path suddenly changed into another direction when becoming a mother while living in Brazil. I started to immerse in the world of Painting and Photography.
I have always been interested in painting from a very young age. While working as an architect, I undertook several art courses in my hometown 'Santa Cruz de la Sierra' with highly acclaimed local artists. I took also acrylic painting in Bern while living in Switzerland. In parallel I developed a huge interest in photography, reason why I participated on short courses in Photography, art and architecture in London at Central Saint Martin’s UAL and later on in Bern, Switzerland. While living in Sao Paulo, I attended Photography courses at Primelight.
For the past three years I have worked as a freelance artist exploring the power of color as a medium of expression. I developed a style where the use of brushes has almost disappeared. I started painting with knifes of different sizes, creating layers of colors, one after the other, evoking the idea of ‘building with color’. These layers give a depth to the painting where each color layer becomes easily recognizable and interposed by one another; they become single compositions, which as a whole, forms the painting.
I paint purely by instinct, I don’t usually make first a drawing, and the final image is the result of this constantly exploration of color and composition together with probably images in my unconscious mind recorded by memories.
In 2016 I had training in picture framing by a wood specialist from Germany, my father in low, which allows me to frame my own paintings.
