Hertfordshire Open Studios is just one of the events organised by Herts Visual Arts Forum (HVAF), which works to promote and support the visual arts in and around Hertfordshire.

Between 12th September and 4th October 2009 artists and craftspeople throughout Hertfordshire are opening the doors of their homes and studios to you. Entry is free, giving you the opportunity to see artists at work or giving demonstrations. HVAF members are passionate about what they create and will be happy to discuss their work with you. And if you don't find that original artwork you had promised yourself, you can commission a piece direct with one of the artists !

Many visitors like to plan a 'trail' and visit several Open Studios in the same area. Studios are arranged geographically and the numbers on the Map page correspond to the numbered participants' venues. Others prefer to see artists working in particular styles or media so do refer to the List by Media page to help you plan your visits.
