Exhibitions to see this month ...
The setting for the exhibition couldn’t have been better for the largest crafts event in Europe. With the magnificent Hatfield House in the background and ancient trees adorning the site, the grounds of the old estate provided a perfect landscape for a big art show.
Denise Bowser reports on her visit ....
Herts Visual Arts Members will receive a separate email this month containing the Agenda, draft 2010 Accounts and Committee Nomination Forms. We have arranged a presentation by Sarah Manning, Director of Visual Merchandising Courses, who will be giving an interesting and insightful lecture after the formal AGM proceedings.
This month Clare Kendal Bate met with Landscape Artist Anthony Wildig at his home and studio in Bushey.

SHOW AND SHARE . I was on holiday and visited a gallery, as you do. After I had spent some time looking at a painting the owner walked up to me and said, “Excuse me for not spending time with you, but I can tell you’re not a buyer – you’re far too interested in technique.”
I like the idea that as an artist I’m sharing techniques with other artists just by showing my work. So this month I thought I’d take a look at exhibitions that show us a thing or two – accidentally or on purpose. I also invite you to supply local tips and suggestions for showing and sharing.
Remember, that one of your benefits of membership is the ability to advertise your workshops and courses on the HVA website.
