Chadwell Way Sculpture Trail - Great Amwell to Hertford
Chadwell Way Sculpture Trail
Maxine King announces the Chadwell Way Sculpture Trail, featuring contemporary bronzes by children in Hertford, Ware, King's Mead & Great Amwell.
The trail takes in a 5 mile route including Emma's Well, the New River, Scott's Grotto and New Gauge, near Kings Mead and features 31 sculptures designed in response to their natural habitat.
The creation of the bronzes has been informed by the methods and materials employed by Henry Moore, who lived and worked nearby at Perry Green.
Walkers are recommended to start at the crossroads on Cautherly Lane, Great Amwell.
Leaflets with a trail map are available at locations along the route, libraries, public buildings and Tourist Information.
The June 2010 edition of the HVAF newsletter described the genesis of the project - click here to read.

Each child created a site specific bronze sculpture for installation across 5 miles of East Hertfordshire countryside. The film Discordant Drum features two sculptures located at heritage sites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJsykvUKr2E&feature=youtu.be
