Currently a Fellow at Digswell Arts Trust and a Fine Art graduate from the University of Hertfordshire, I use a variety of media - oil paint, charcoal, watercolour, pastel, plaster - to create minimal works where the original inspiration has been subtracted to its essence. My aim is to create work which hovers between painting and drawing and which has a delicate, meditative quality.
The work is influenced by the immediate locality of where it is made. Explorations build an awareness of the particular aspects of the environment - its natural features, light, geography - and this is translated so that each piece is gradually built up in layers over time. Works are often made in series, or in relation to and influenced by other works.
I have exhibited at Courtyard Arts (receiving Highly Commended 2017); Free Range at the Truman Brewery, London; Watford Museum; Arts Depot, Finchley; Maynard Gallery, Welwyn and Landguard Fort, Felixstowe.
