alison bracey, printmaker
Daydreaming, screenprint on Japanese paper, enclosed light. 29x21x16cm.
Detail from - A Place to Dream - installation.
Selected for Hot off The Press 4 at the Curwen Gallery.
Alison’s work is a response to travel, both real and imagined. Her recent journeys have been to Canada, Denmark and Iceland, countries with a rich tradition in mythology, folklore and fairytale. Photography is used to record the experience of travel and as part of the process of printmaking.
Statement
My prints frequently combine and contrast collagraph and silkscreen printing. I am keen to retain a tactile value and collagraph is ideal for this. Extending my work into book arts, three-dimensional paper objects and installation came as a natural addition to printmakin
