HVAF VOLUNTARY VACANCIES
Editor for HVAF Newsletter
HVAF has a vacancy for a new Editor to take over the production of its monthly online Newsletter.
The online Newsletter was set up in June 2009 to cover exhibitions, events, opportunities and news relating to the thriving visual arts community of HVAF, a county wide forum for artists.
Replacing the long-established printed version, the Newsletter offers huge scope and opportunity to the right candidate who can demonstrate a strong interest in visual arts and editorial experience.
All Newsletter production is carried out online. Material is sent electronically to the Editor, and pages of the Newsletter are created directly on the website using the content management system eZ Publish. Finally, the Newsletter is sent by email to HVAF members and is available to view on the HVAF website, under the News section.
The Editor is supported by several Deputy Editors and will liaise with a small team including the Web Designer, Web Editor, Publicity Officer and Open Studios Co-ordinator. Training is available.
The role of Editor is voluntary.
To be considered for this position please send your CV to HVAF Chairman Mel Hilbrown at chair@hvaf.org.uk
Treasurer
Do you know anyone with a bit of spare time who would like to help artists across Hertfordshire and be involved with a vibrant and growing arts organisation?
Herts Visual Arts, which organises the annual Herts Open Studios and other art exhibitions and events, needs a volunteer Treasurer. This role does not require any accounting experience. It does require someone who is reliable, conscientious and can handle a basic spreadsheet.
As well as managing the organisation's cheque book and payments and maintaining financial records to provide information to our auditors and to the organising group, the treasurer is a member of that group and has a voice in all aspects of the organisation.
In addition to a small amount of ongoing administration work there are 6-8 organisational group and funding committee meetings each year, and lots of opportunities to get involved in arts events if you want to.
To be considered for this position please send your CV to HVAF Chairman Mel Hilbrown at chair@hvaf.org.uk
Voluntary Fundraising Officer
A voluntary fundraiser is needed by Herts Visual Arts Forum (HVAF) to obtain sponsorship to support the work in Hertfordshire of this not-for-profit, voluntary organization.
A number of sponsorship packages have been created for businesses of all sizes, for which the successful candidate(s) would be given support and training.
- There is an incentive bonus.
- We are seeking self starters, perhaps candidates from a sales or fundraising background who will report to the Funding group Project Manager.
- Volunteers should have a car; mileage and telephone expenses will be paid.
- The area covered is limited to Hertfordshire.
- Contacts will initially be based on our existing relationships with known galleries, suppliers and venues.
- Then new contacts will be from existing lists.
- Contacts are expected to be by telephone and then face-to-face.
- We are keen to set up new partnerships, and can develop sponsorship packages to suit the particular needs or businesses in Hertfordshire and the region.
To be considered for this position, please send your CV or details to chair@hvaf.org.uk.
