Rosemary Bradshaw
My paintings are largely based on drawings and are often concerned with the human form.
Recently they have become semi- abstract; particularly in relation to movement and stillness.
I use mixed media including watercolour, wax-resist and several printmaking techniques.
Life-drawing is a continuing interest and I work in a loose way, constantly observing and assessing the pose. I also keep a daily sketch book and like to draw musicians and dancers, hoping to capture some of the spirit of the rhythms.
I hope to further develop my printmaking and explore etching and collagraph techniques.
I am a qualified and experienced teacher for children and adults, having taught a wide variety of art and craft classes. Currently I run and teach life-drawing sessions in Knebworth and St Albans.
My work has been exhibited in Cheshire and Manchester and most recently with Hertfordshire Visual Arts’ Forum, and the Open Exhibition at The Margaret Harvey Gallery, St Albans.
