Peter Brown

I am a figurative artist, I usually paint in oils on canvas but also use a variety of other media including watercolour and acrylic, I also draw using pastel, charcoal and ink. The choice of medium depends on the subject.

While I predominantly paint landscapes I have also completed portraits and still-lives. I paint from nature both in England and abroad.

As I have lived in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, for the last thirty years I know the local area well and the town and countryside provide me with a wealth of subjects at any time of year. I currently spend a quarter of the year in Spain which provides a different range of light and colours.
