SHORT COURSE: Contemporary Art History

This ten-week short course offers a chronological path through key contemporary art movements from modernist sculpture, to land art and the present day situation.

The course will use works from the UH Art Collection as examples to map out major phases in art history. This introductory course includes: lecture-style sessions; group readings; debates; screenings, and analysis of images. By the end of the course students will be able to describe different art movements, express informed personal views about art and have a better understanding of the UH Art Collection.
