Melodie Cook at The Royal Society of Portrait Painters Exhibition 8-23 May 2014

Work by local artist and HVA Member Melodie Cook has been selected for the second year running from over 1,000 entries to appear alongside paintings by some of Britain’s leading portrait artists at The Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual open submission exhibition.

Graced by portraits of royalty, celebrities, academics, mothers, daughters, fathers and sons, the exhibition is a feature of the social calendar.

With some 200 portraits on show this is the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of recent portraits in the country with a special section on self-portraiture.

Melodie's entry was a portrait of her son Ciro in Pastel over ink and bleach on gessoed paper.

It is 107cm square and is called Barba Rossa (Red Beard)

'Barba Rossa', Melodie Cook
