'Present Arts', 6 Nov-23 Dec 2014

During the Christmas period, the exhibition PRESENT ARTS maintains The Gallery at Parndon Mill’s high standard, but the emphasis is on works of art which are affordable, including ceramics, glass, jewellery, paintings, sculpture and prints.

The Christmas exhibition is an opportunity to introduce new talent. This year there are several ceramic artists whose work is new to The Gallery. Debra Baker presents interesting shapes in slip cast porcelain. Patrick Joyce shows smoke fired forms. Beautifully crafted stoneware and porcelain vessels are by Alex Shimwell and Pat Short shows very interesting pieces based on organic forms.

Once again there will be a collection of colourful and witty ceramics by Ruta Bartkeviciute who the gallery introduced last year.

Thomas Petit is contributing a splendid new range of colourful glass vessels and the exhibition will also include glass pieces by regular exhibitors.

There will be an attractive new range of prints by Suman Gujral, collages by Anneli Boon, whose work has not been seen in The Gallery for some time, and small paintings on paper by Gillian MacKenna.  Resident artists at Parndon Mill will also be exhibiting two and three dimensional works.
