Present Arts, 7 Nov - 23 December
The Gallery at Parndon Mill
Off Elizabeth Way, HARLOW CM20 2HP Open: Tues-Fri 10-5/Sun 2-4
Maintaining the gallery's high standard, the emphasis in this exhibition is on works of art which are affordable. It includes ceramics, glass, jewellery, wood, paintings, sculpture and prints.
Carlyn Lindsay makes pure and simple forms in turned wood with the addition of complex laminated elements. Ruta Bartkeviciute shows her colourful and witty ceramics. Textiles are represented by June Faulkner's delicate silk hangings and scarves and Connie Flynn's intriguing pieces in felt. Jorden Obasa makes blown glass vessels with swirling colours. Printmakers whose work has not been shown here before are Emma Mowers and Suman Gujral. Delicate pattern paintings by Dittany Rose and wildlife paintings by Marie Antoniou will also be hung. These artists will be joined by many others whose work will be familiar to gallery visitors.
This year's PRESENT ARTS displays a collection of works of art and crafts which are a pleasure to look at, to possess or to give as very special presents.
