PS Arts Exhibition raises funds for Isabel Hospice
Work by David Cole, Denise Allen and Paul Ambler will be on show between 11 May - 30 June at PS Arts in Datchworth.
David Cole is a Welwyn-based amateur photographer who has lived and worked in Hertfordshire since 1978. His career in the international pharmaceutical industry enables him to travel widely, and this stimulated in an interest in photography. He is a member of Welwyn Garden City photography club and enters national and international photo competitions.
Denise Allen work in oils, acrylics and watercolour. She loves the different properties of the media, and possibilities they offer. She has been teaching now for some time, in regular classes, one off workshops and painting holidays. Denise gets a great deal of satisfaction from seeing people develop and produce exciting art. Showing somebody a technique, either individually or to an art society and seeing them get it, and then adding their own personal twist is very rewarding.
Paul Ambler was born in North London in 1957 and moved to Stevenage in the early 60s. He has always been creative and proud of being self-taught. He is influenced and inspired by many people, whether it is an artist, architect, photographer or a musician. His main forte is large acrylic paintings on canvas, which he makes and stretches himself. Pen and Ink drawings in the 'stippling' style are another of his specialities.
