Glasshaus VIII, 3 Oct - 3 Nov 2013

Those that attended the recent HVA lecture by Louis Thompson will be particularly interested in this exhibition at The Gallery at Parndon Mill, where a variety of blown, kiln formed and cast pieces will be on display.

This exhibition features a new body of works of art by Heike Brachlow who is renowned nationally and internationally for her immaculately precise cast glass sculptures which often balance, seemingly precariously, and include colour which changes when exposed to different light sources.

Also working here and participating in the exhibition are Jon Lewis and Yuki Kokai who exhibit blown glass and Ewa Wawrysniak who presents kiln formed and cast glass pieces.

Members of "the team" at London Glassblowing will also be represented in Glasshaus VIII, including Peter Layton who runs the studio in Bermondsey and is known as the ‘grand old man of glass’, one of the world’s most widely respected glass artists. Louis Thompson presents a group of interesting and striking pieces which have recently been on exhibition at the showroom in Bermondsey.

New to The Gallery at Parndon Mill, Katya Izabel Filmus has agreed to contribute cast glass picture frames incorporating references to the body and mind, with a dream engraved on the back.
