Best Made Local - 27 Oct & 7 Dec 2013

Having made a pledge last year to buy only British made Christmas presents to help support British Makers and the British economy proved a difficult task involving much travelling to find good craft fairs. The need to start the search much earlier in order to seek out really good local Makers became apparent and so local Designer Makers Myra Hutton and Steph Thannhauser have launched Best Made Local which has been created to help support and promote individual Makers and Foodie Artisans who make a living from their craft.

Best Made Local aim to engage and inform the public by introducing them to the wide range of products created on the doorstep or within easy reach. By buying locally made products we save on the need for things to travel from the other side of the country or fly half way across the world, we get great quality and at the same time support the local economy which should in turn create more opportunities for employment.

At Best Made Local you also get to meet the creator, to learn their creative story, to find out about the products and what makes them special.

Please make a note of Best Made Local’s  forthcoming Makers Markets they’ll even have a café with locally baked cakes! They have two Makers Markets lined up with Christmas in mind; these will both be held at York House, Stony Stratford. Milton Keynes, the first on 27 October and the second on 7 December 10.00am-4.00pm There will be further developments and additional venues next year.

www.bestmadelocal.co.uk is being updated daily with new exhibitors to both events with links to their websites. You can like Best Made Local on Facebook and follow on Twitter, just follow the links on the website.
