Gill Ayre
My work explores what it feels like to be ‘in’ nature, and our sense of place in the natural world.
Landscape and seascape are therefore the beginning points for my work: the patina of the land bears the scars and traces of our journeys, our habitations, our history; and the sea, with its elemental power, reminds us we are part of nature and cannot contain its wildness.
