I am an architect graduated from ITESM campus Monterrey with a master of arts in architecture from Greenwich University. After 12 years of working as an architect in countries such as UK, Switzerland and Bolivia, my path suddenly changed into another direction when becoming a mother while living in Brazil. I started to immerse in the world of Painting and Photography.
I have always been interested in painting from a very young age. While working as an architect, I undertook several art courses in my hometown 'Santa Cruz de la Sierra' with highly acclaimed local artists. I took also acrylic painting in Bern while living in Switzerland. In parallel I developed a huge interest in photography, reason why I participated on short courses in Photography, art and architecture in London at Central Saint Martin’s UAL and later on in Bern, Switzerland. While living in Sao Paulo, I attended Photography courses at Primelight. It seems as if all those years, I have been preparing myself for what was meant to be my vocation.
These last 4 years have been years of powerful and continuing exploration of painting, attempting always to express myself through image and color. I paint mainly with palette knifes, layer by layer, evoking the idea of ‘building with color ‘resulting in highly charged colors, recognizable through the depth they create. I have also had training in picture framing by a wood specialist from Germany, my father in law, so I mostly frame my paintings myself.
I am based in Hitchin.
