Carol Rogers
An elected Member of a National Society, the United Society of Artists, Carol annually exhibits with the Society in Central London.
In 1995 Carol joined the Herts Visual Arts Forum & since that date has enjoyed opening her Studio to the public during the annual OPEN STUDIOS event, meeting many new people, showing her work & demonstrating her skill with watercolour & other media to them. She especially enjoys the contact with children, letting them 'have a go' with watercolour etc.when they visit her Studio.
Carol is also a member of the Watford Area Arts Forum & exhibits with them, taking part in the 'Park Art' & 'Aspects of Cassiobury Park' exhibitions at Watford Museum in 2009.
In 2007 a watercolour was purchased by Bushey Museum, Herts for their collection of work by local artists.
A deep love of nature is reflected in colourful paintings & monoprints, some favourite themes are shown here, others are landscapes, seascapes, figures, fish & birds.
Carol runs workshops & is an experienced demonstrator to Art Societies in Herts, Middx, Beds & Bucks.
For the past twenty five years, watercolour has been her first love, this is often combined with collage in subtle ways, to create textural effects. Recently she has returned to oil & acrylic painting using her own hand-made paper to add collage to the oils & texture paste to emphasise areas in the acrylic paintings ie. rocks etc. Sculpture in stoneware fired clay has also become a passion in the last few years, these pieces are taken from life & imagination.
